Eragon; Eldest
Eragon; Eldest | Christopher Paolini, Christopher
This slipcase will be a must-have for all die-hard Paolini fans. Eragon: When Eragon finds a polished stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; perhaps it will buy his family meat for the winter. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself . . . Eldest: Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have just saved the rebel state from destruction. Now he must travel to Ellesm ra, land of the elves, for further training in magic and swordsmanship, the vital skills of the Dragon Rider. It is the journey of a lifetime, filled with awe-inspiring new places and people, each day a fresh adventure. But chaos and betrayal plague him at every turn, and Eragon isn't sure whom he can trust.

Let the kiddos have screen time so I can start on the second book in The Inheritance Cycle. I love rereading this series. I need to see if my local thrift store has the fourth book, so I can complete the collection.

hannah-leeloo Welcome to litsy sweet. Loving your posts. Happy reading friend 2y

Another casualty of my youngest. 😭 that's signed editions that have had water spilled on them, a copy of mice and men for which I can't get the cover of anymore and it was my favourite one, crumpled up dust covers, pages with sticky fingers all over and now a ripped first edition of Eragon. I love him but I wish he would leave my books alone! 😰

Elizabeth2 Ugh! So sorry. My husband and I say this all the time: “Kids ruin everything.” But they‘re worth it. (Most of the time.) 😉 5y

bullbunny Have you searched every where? Including Abe books?? 5y
laurieluna @bullbunny I've attempted to order certain covers from abe books before and been stung. Either wrong cover or terrible quality. 5y
Jas16 Oh no! 5y
JacqMac Eventually, you‘ll just come to accept that you can‘t have nice things anymore. But hopefully he will take care of you when you‘re old. 😂 5y
TheBookDream Can you have a locked cabinet for your special books? We have a bookshelf that has cabinet doors. Wouldn‘t be hard to padlock it 5y
laurieluna @TheBookDream don't really have the money to replace all the book cases 😬 just trying to ride out the storm and hopefully he'll learn 🙈 5y
BiblioLitten I have mixed feelings whenever my son picks up my books. 😍😖 5y

Pickpick

As one of the first fantasy books I fell in love with, I am still partial to the vast array of world building and story telling that Paolini weaves. In Eragon, we get to witness the rebirth of Dragon Riders. By the end of book 1, much of the history of Alagaesia is set. The story could stand alone. In Eldest, Paolini plays a lot more emotion through the story, showing his increased intelligence in writing. A well written story completely.

Dragons! This series started off strong but I found I'd lost a lot of interest by the time the last book came out
