This is quite an interesting book. The author uses famous people to illustrate different kinds of mental conditions. Warhol was a hoarder, Lincoln suffered from depression, Dostoevsky had a gambling addiction. It was published in 2016, so the research is fairly up to date and backs up the diagnoses. The one that surprised me the most was Einstein, but I won‘t tell you his problem, you‘ll have to read the book to find that out.

DrSabrinaMoldenReads I have been wondering about Virginia Woolf 5y

12 unique stories about 12 iconic individuals and the way their minds worked.. does it get any better? I learned so much from this book. It is a wealth of knowledge and covers far more than just psychology and history. HIGHLY recommend!

Sace Dabbing panda for the win! My kindle is always full of surprises. "I forgot I had that!" Though I discovered today that Amazon will not tell you if you bought something if it's a different edition thus I have two versions of An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. Lesson- don't assume Amazon will tel you everything and search your library before you buy. I feel so stupid. 8y

A fascinating look at the intersection between mental illness and human greatness in many forms. I never thought about how in some cases, mental illness can be a strength.

Science! 12 Great personalities are used to tell their story and then the author explains the science behind their traits. Interesting how Einsteins autism spectrum today would put him in a category, genetically if we "cure" autism we may not have any scientists, artists, musicians? Very readable
