I'm enjoying reading a story every day from Dark Tales, and the Mary Stewart buddy read is going as delightfully as I hoped, but the tagged book was a dud. I actually really liked the sciencey bio-informatics bits but the professor MC is insufferable. I kept yelling at the book as he always made the absolute worst decisions possible 😭💀
Oh well, book 8 for #scarathlon #spookyghostclub, my 2nd #trappedinaspookyhouse + 369 (!) word search words
A fast-paced, exciting mystery in which the nerdy professor is determined to expose and catch a serial killer that none of law enforcement believes exists. I'll definitely return to this author!
Does it make me a bad soccer mom if I read during the little guy's soccer practice? Turns out Nina and I get bored watching 6 year old summer soccer... 🤣🤣🤣
What a bloody romp. The Naturalist is chaotic, plotty, exciting crime reading. At times it feels vibrantly original, at others it almost (maybe?) crosses the line into mania. I have zero regrets that I‘ve started this series which is the perfect tonic for a busy brain at the end of a week. 100% fun.
Well here's the start to my reads for October #TBR #TEAMSLAUGHTER ... I've been gone awhile and come back recently. Can someone explain #bookspinbingo to me? I might do that as well. These types of challenges keep me reading! So ready for October. I'm catching up on my favorite mystery murder author Andrew Mayne!
Up next! 🎧

This gets the worst rating because it gave me such hope for the first 200+ pages and then went down hill fast. Predictable, generic and unbelievable conclusion that had so much potential. I‘m glad I didn‘t buy it or I‘d want my money back...
So, my husband transported bodies for a couple years from morgues to the state medical examiners office, sometimes nursing homes, funeral homes, airports, etc. They all drove Grand Caravans and as long as the family wasn‘t involved they wore jeans and T-shirts...
Great white hunting patterns... really? Hmmm... maybe someone just really likes shark week 😂
I‘ve been curious about this one for ages!! A quick read with short chapters-I loved that. The MC, Dr. Theo Cray, is a super-smart and nerdy scientist. I loved all of the science and nature in the story. HOWEVER for all of his smarts, Theo is not very bright. I kept thinking he should stick to the science and research and stop trying to solve criminal cases. The story required so much suspension of disbelief.

When you WANT the protagonist to be eaten by the killer bear, or the killer posing as a bear or whatever is going on... you just know it‘s not going well. 😂😂 I thought this was a clumsy book full of holes and mistakes and one smug jerk of a protagonist that I really hoped would become bear poop. 🤷🏼♀️ #noapologies
I think I discovered a new series. I love when that happens. I‘m also enjoying the science thrown into this mystery. #BookNerd #BookAddict #Bookaddiction #Mystery
This winter weather is crazy this year. Ice storm last night and now 25-35 mile an hour winds blowing snow all over. #BookNerd #BookAddict #BookAddiction #Mystery #WinterReads
Computational biology, serial killer and a Montana setting made for an intriguing mystery. An Amazon kindle first pick.
I finished The Naturalist tonight, and it definitely made for a #suspensefulsunday . I overall enjoyed this book, though it was initially a bit of a slow burn. I liked Dr. Theo Cray for his quirks, and the sciency stuff was fun to read. I went ahead and bought the next book so I'll be able to continue the story. I'd give this one 4/5 stars.

The book itself was good entertainment, but the audiobook narrator (Will Damron) was awful! His over-dramatizing made all the parts that were supposed to be suspenseful ridiculous, and honestly, did he have to imitate the gunfire? That was cringeworthy to say the least. (And did the author really have to include it?) All the resistance the MC met also felt forced and like a cheap trick to engage the reader.
1. I'm reading the tagged book and just started Then She Was Gone on audiobook.
2. Tavin Bryan got drafted to the Jaguars!
3. No, but will read as much as I can squeeze in!
4. What do you call an alligator detective?
An investi-gator.
5. Will do! 👍

@jesshowbooks
I love cops and back the blue in their profession, I‘ve known many and there are some in their personal lives that can give the devil a run for his money! 😂
1. Friend shared it on Facebook and she has never posted anything & I got addicted! 🤣
2. I haven‘t except I use Goodreads. I am using Goodreads this year with intention!
3. Yes! Litsy is costing me a fortune!
4. I am hoping to finish The Naturalist (tagged).
#audiobook #currentread The mystery is killing me! Gonna finish it tonight!
This book is so enjoyable - love the narration! I hope to finish it tonight! I‘ve started too many - need to finish some! 🤣 I‘m at 61% now.
I am a science geek who isn‘t very good at science. 😂 I‘m almost finished with this book - basically the protagonist helps capture a serial killer using SCIENCE. Who knew? So good.
This book is a wonderful mystery. It's actually a page turner, you can't keep it down once you start reading it. Through the last quarter of the book seem to lack in the narrative or maybe just is plain. It would have been a real nice if we had the murderer's perspective on the killing he makes. It would also have been nice if the murdered had his own narrative.
#RandomBookQuote
Play along with this hashtag. Quote out of context doesn‘t seem to have anything to do with the book, often denotes humor or sarcasm or deadpan or even toilet humor! Have fun & don‘t forget to tag me!
#RandomBookQuote
This book is full of perfect quotes for this hashtag fun! I am laughing all the way thru this one! I‘m as clumsy and socially awkward as Dr Theo Cray!
Check out the hashtag and join the fun!

I‘m so clumsy - I relate to this ... I always have a smart ass answer ready for someone dumb enough to ask me about it
This # has taken off already - several already playing along. Here‘s the scoop. It‘s a random quote that out of context is really funny or strange or even non-sensical. Also, often may involve a twisted sense of humor! Use the hashtag and tag me so I can join in your fun!
I want to start something fun. Maybe it will catch on.

Normally I take myself way too seriously and note meaningful or inspiring quotes from what I read. So, I want to remember to have some fun & pull random quotes out that make no sense unless you read the book.
This book exhausted me. It needed to come to a resolution sooner. And it was soooooo over the top.
Free from Amazon via the monthly Prime First Reads. Worth every penny so far. 😉
A little mystery, a little science, a little highbrow computer technology, and a whole lot of bumbling around by a cutie college professor who keeps getting up and going like an energizer bunny - that's The Naturalist. Extremely entertaining read.
#MurderMystery
A tight, deductive reason ing type thriller. Short chapters and easy to digest
This was CREEPY! But definitely kept me turning pages to see what would happen next.
Really enjoyed this book, I love a good Serial Killer Crime Book.. But i think the thing that i Enjoyed the most was that it wasnt your usual crime drama book.. It had alot more Science added to it..more Sluething Less of the Police side of things....looking forward to the next book in the series!!
My lasted read, and I‘m loving it! It‘s about a killer bear, or it is!? 🐻
This was a great read! I appreciate the author making the story believable and creating a nontypical hero. It's nice to see the nerd win sometimes! The author does abruptly drop the story at the end of the book and I was a little annoyed until I saw there is a second book coming in March 2018(?). This is a fast, interesting read that keeps you guessing. I'd definitely recommend!
This is my September Amazon prime Kindle pick and so far it's very good. Even better when I found that the main character teaches in my original hometown, and probably at my alma mater, UT.
