This TL, S book is perfect for introducing TL to your young readers! This book warns of the idea of jumping to conclusions without having all the facts. This is shown by the old queen not believing the wet girl at the castle gate is truly a princess. In this story a young prince searches all over the world for a real princess to bring home to the king and queen! Will he ever find his princess?

neanderc The UDL Principle 1.2 regarding offering alternatives for auditory information and the simplifying of your speech to make it slower and redundant as specified in EL Strategy 14 can be met by using this TL book in a S. 4y
DrSpalding We saw Sharlece perform a beautiful shadow puppet storytelling presentation. What a wonderful resource to include with this classic traditional literature selection. 4y

This TL, S book is a classic that students will love. The theme of this story is to “not judge a book by it‘s cover”. A young prince travels far to find a true princess, but is unsuccessful. When a princess shows up at the castle steps, the royal family is skeptical of her, but she later proves them wrong.

The Classcraft article discusses effective methods for completing an S with TL books. The UDL principle 1.3 offering alternatives for visual information works with S lessons because the use of props and visuals. The EL strategy 17 explains the use of audio visuals, models and demonstrations when teaching, which would increase students comprehension and engagement.

“I have scarcely closed my eyes all night. Heaven only knows what was in the bed, but I was lying on something hard, so that I am black and blue all over my body. It's horrible!“

I would use this in my classroom of first or second graders. They will love the curiosity if the prince will find a princess. The classic fairytale book has beautiful illustrations that all kids will love to see and read.

This is a children's fairytale book. It is about a young woman whose royal identity is established by a test of her sensitivity. The prince wants to meet a real princess. So one day when she knocks on the door asking for a place to stay, she sleeps on the bed and tells everyone she can't sleep because she feels a pea in the bed. That is how they know she is real! This is a cute book that portrays fairytale features such as make-believe situations.

This traditional fairytale tells the story of a prince who wants to marry this girl. However, he has to marry a princess and so they test to see if she‘s a princess. They do this by secretly placing a pea under her mattress because princesses can‘t sleep when they‘re uncomfortable. She was a real princess! I really loved this story as a kid, and I still like it to this day! I think this is a good classroom classic.

Leftcoastzen I had a kitty that loved laundry, didn‘t matter if it was the dirty sort pile or warm and neatly folded.😻 6y
julesG @Leftcoastzen My sweet kitty only likes the laundry tub. She's peed into it several times already. It's her way of telling me she doesn't like the litter. 😁 6y

#Characters2017 #PrincessofPower OK, I admit I couldn't think of any books with Princesses of Power in them in my stacks. I don't remember the princess in The Princess and the Pea having a name, but she had the power of detecting a pea under 20 mattresses.😆I remember being fascinated with the story when I was very young. I wanted to sleep on a stack of mattresses & I hid peas under my mattress to see if I'd be able to sleep with them there.😴👑
