pickA lovely, unusual love story.
I liked Lou‘s personal development because in that respect it very much reminded me of my own teenage years.
The whole “We-move-to-a-new-city”-thing was a bit cliché. Same with the theatre-class-teacher and the grandma (who reminded me of that of “La boum”). But I liked the well-made mix of problems the protagonists have to cope with.
Witty and no so chafed as usual love stories.
It‘s so mean. In the book it‘s summer with nice summer evenings and mild breezes.
And here on my sofa 🛋 I have cloudy 17 degrees with no real sunshine.
Hello spring⁉️ I want nice sunshiny days with temperatures warm enough to read on the open window while sitting on the windowsill.
I can very well do without light goosebumps on my arms and chilly feet despite socks 🧦 while reading inside my living room with closed windows. 😟
I like that it‘s told from two different female perspectives. One is clearly Lou‘s the other most probably that of beautiful but mysterious Elia.
It‘s a bit irritating that the author sometimes decided to change the perspective in the middle of the chapter from one paragraph to the next. But if you got used to it it‘s also interesting because those nearby paragraphs often transport completely different atmospheres and thoughts. Cleverly made.
How funny. Seems like great minds really think alike, two years ago @Buchmagie also chose this book to fight a reading slump. Quite the same I do right now.
It‘s a teenage romance. Lou moves with her family to the country and fancy with her quite well because after she kissed her best girlfriend and was rejected she doesn‘t know what to do but then at the new school she meets beautiful and mysterious Ella who shakes her world.
Ich brauche jetzt Mal mit diesen Buch, #leseflaute Ole. Aber das hört sich so gut an, hoffe es packt mich wieder.
