Bruce does not like the mice living in his house. So he decides to move. Him and his four geese. But the geese miss their friends. How, oh how will Bruce make his little birds happy again. I love this story, and the message that family is family and home is home no matter where you go.

Wife I ❤️ the Bruce books. I wonder if there is too much sophisticated humor, because my 4 yr old grandson is not charmed by them. 6y

LibrarianRyan @Wife that may be it. I also find they are not consistent. There is at least one that was just a so so for me but don't remember which one 6y

Delayed post #9: This one was kind of a bummer for me. My son and I loved the first one. The second one ended well, at least. But this one was just sad the whole time. I gave it a so-so because the illustrations continue to be fantastic, and I kept hoping that the author would provide a solution for everyone (like the mice building a house next door maybe), but no. I don‘t like that Bruce is still unhappy in the end and no one cares.

readinginthedark @LibrarianRyan Well, it still has really good reviews on Goodreads and Litsy, so I guess it‘s just me. Everyone else saw same old grumpy Bruce, but he seemed legitimately unhappy to me in this one. It seemed to be perpetuating the idea that parents don‘t matter as long as the kids are happy. I felt like there could have been a compromise. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 7y

Well, this is it! The movers will be here in a few minutes to load the truck, I'm about to be sequestered to the bathroom with the pets while they're going in and out. I've got about 100 pages left in The Passage, hopefully enough to keep me busy for the next couple hours. If not I've got my kindle, of course!
