pickWow, great telling of Rusty and Hilda Bernstein in the 60's in South Africa and their fight against apartheid. I learned so much. There are a few paragraphs from Nelson Mandela's speeches that make me want to read more of his writings. Recommend reading this. My copy is from #persephonebooks which makes it even more special!

Learning so much about apartheid and the movement against it from this book. I thought by the fly leaf this was a mystery story and while I was surprised to learn how wrong I was, I‘m so glad I‘m taking this journey with Hilda Bernstein.

I have just started a book about apartheid, a part of history of which I was painfully ignorant. Last night I was at a party chatting to a South African friend. It turns out that her father in law‘s cousin is F.W de Klerk!!!! He and his government dismantled the apartheid system and introduced universal suffrage. Totally bizarre and amazing coincidence. #currentread #riotgrams
