This has always been one of my favorite series. I highly recommend it! This series follows the journey of a half-blood Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, on his many quests he is sent on to help save the real world from the gods taking it over. There are many mythological creatures, Greek gods and goddesses, and true mythological things that appear within this series. It is action packed and would be a great read aloud for older elementary kids.

With all the excitement around the new adaptation, it was finally time for me to read this modern classic in middle grade lit! As an adult knowing the basics of Greek mythology, you definitely see a lot of things coming but it‘s still a fun read and educational too. I don‘t think I‘ll continue the series but I‘m looking forward to the new film.

My ten year old has never been a fan of fiction. He go-to genres are usually science/chemistry related. My goal was to find a book/series that was suck him in.

This is the face of a boy who is hooked and just discover Percy is the son of Poseidon. 🤣🤣😍😍

I don‘t know why it took me so long to read this. Even as an adult I really enjoyed this book and I can‘t wait to read the other books in this series. 5 stars for me.

I chose this book because Greek Mythology Interests me.

Zeus' master bolt, which holds the power to create lightning, was stolen. Poseidon, Zeus' brother was blamed for the theft. If Poseidon does not return the master bolt in time, Zeus will declare war with him. Poseidon sets his son Percy Jackson along with his friends on a mission to retrieve the master bolt. Will Percy get it to Zeus on time?

This a modern fantasy book about a 12 year old boy and his journey across the USA to catch a thief who has stolen weapons of mass destruction. This book won a Hampshire book award and it would be good for independent reading at a middle school level. #ucflae3414f19

I‘m hoping to fly through the rest of my Percy Jackson book this afternoon so I can dive into all the GR Award nominees I currently have on the holds shelf at the library!

The best part of the book, in my opinion, is the fight with Ares

I would say this is a good fantasy book because it is super creative, but very relatable. It‘s relatable because it is for young adults and related to family troubles. I read the full chapter book.

Hey all. Today I want to talk about cover changes. I‘m talking cover changes in the middle of a series. Not new edition covers after the series was complicate. Meaning you will NOT see Harry Potter on this list.

Cover changes happen in adult books but not often. It happens frequently in kids and teen needs.

We are starting off with TLL. The original cover screamed read me to this adult, but it didn‘t sell well 👇🏻

What are everyone else's favorite #holidayreads? Despite having nothing to do with the holidays (or winter!) I often find myself rereading #TheLightningThief this time of year. Still one of my favorites! ♡

Today's #tarottakeover is #thefool and that's a card that I feel has tons of literary possibility! But I'm picking Percy Jackson! I mean, talk about improvisation and inexperience! I love how, for the most part, Percy took every lump and far out unknown situation head on! This series is a favorite!

This book is the start to one of the greatest series in the world. I love Greek Mythology, so this was perfect for me. I have read this book about eight or nine times. That tells you how much I love it. I really recommend this book. I feel like anyone 3rd grade and up could read this. This is the best for teens though. It‘s great for all ages!!!!

I have first watched the movie and then after I read the book.. I wasn't disappointed

One of the best books I've ever read. It's got a perfect blend of everything - mythology and humour, to name a few.

Although I love many kid and YA fiction books, this one was not my cup of tea. I tried hard and got half way, but found every excuse not to pick it back up. It is very silly though, so I can see why kids like it.

I'm (finally!) getting into the Percy Jackson series! I finished The Lightning Thief last week and totally loved it! I hope to start The Sea of Monsters real soon! 🤗
