So inappropriate, but only book nerds will understand why this obit made me smile today. I immediately thought, John Carter is still out there, still a military man (since the civil war) after all these years , and after using these credentials until 81 it was time to fake his death and start over again somewhere else.....maybe as John D. Carter? 🤔
