One of the first things I look for in a #VintageEdition is an inscription. Many never fail to disappoint. Most people's handwriting was so similar back then. I always try to imagine who the two people are, and I think about how the book has traveled across vast time and place to stop in my hands before continuing its meandering journey. 😊 #LitsyLovesLibraries
Sace Love this! 8y
Bklover You can almost picture Betty Ruth's Christmas morning! I do the same thing- it's especially nice when the book belonged to a long gone family member. 8y
Gina I am not the only one! It is like holding a piece of history in your hands. A snapshot of a life you never knew existed. 8y

Brooke_H But why is "Daddy" in quotes? ? 8y
drokka I have to say, I thought Xmas was a more modern term. 8y
MrBook @Sace 😁👍🏻! @Bklover It is 😊. @Gina Definitely not the only one 😉. @Brooke_H Good question. Maybe history repeats itself with grammatical errors too 😆? @drokka I remember watching old Looney Tunes & Disney cartoons that use the term. 🤗 8y
teebe @Brooke_H @mrbook In the 1930s, Daddy was slang for boyfriend (usually a rich one) - like "sugar daddy" ? 8y
