My mood when the work assignment is to read a book.

A must-read for work, but definitely not mad about it. Incredibly helpful insight given in the form of a story.

Thanks to @janeycanuck for her recent post about this book! I‘m not in the executive business world, nor am I even a manager. I‘m just a member of a team that is on the cusp of experiencing a lot of changes at work; new team members, new boss, and losing a long term member. This book is helpful and super easy to digest. Definitely gave me some ideas for helping build our new team. Highly recommend.

Our leadership team is very focused on our team for 2021 and ensuring we can succeed as we continue to be fully remote for at least the next six months. We‘ll be discussing how we function as a team throughout the year, starting with a group read of this book, which is SO DAMN GOOD. Our team is by no means dysfunctional but there‘s always room for improvement and in understanding how to function at our best. Highly recommend this.

If everything is important, nothing is

My director mentioned this book and I thought it sounded interesting. The story makes it an easy read; I plowed through it in an afternoon. And I liked that the author acknowledged that the practices for dealing with dysfunction are simple on paper but difficult to implement and maintain. Would make good discussion fodder.

Great book for understanding workplace dynamics and dysfunctions. Easy and engaging read.

For work...here's praying it can help us. I think it could if we took it seriously but therein is the rub.
