Today is Yom Hashoah - Holocaust Remembrance Day. Back when I taught in FL I was fortunate enough to meet and hear one of the 5 survivors highlighted in Spielberg's documentary, The Last Days, Irene Zisblatt on more than one occasion when she spoke and met with students during our Holocaust Unit. I used Yolen's book as a point of entry and also taught about propaganda. #neverforget #yomhashoah #holocaustremembranceday
