panI… hated this book.
I was halfway through the book before something showed it was set in the 90s: a fax machine.
The MC was selfish & convinced she could “fix” her hot introverted roommate so he wouldn‘t hide in his room all day. Then she started telling people she was his girlfriend when they weren‘t dating. She wanted to rescue him from his “controlling” internet girlfriend who was at most insecure.
Fat & height -phobic.
Nothing like the blurb.
panI didn't really like this book. It was incoherent rambling from the start to finish with no real plot. The characters were one-dimensional and the MC Holly was very unlikable. It also felt very dated. However, I read this in the early days of covid19 pandemic and I found it very escapistic. I may give Jenny Colgan another try because I kind of liked the writing style and she has potential to be a fun author to read.
so-soI read this between Mar 23 & Apr 4. I gave it 3 ⭐️. It‘s not bad but just not the book for me.
I'm in a bit of a reading slump. Keep trying, though. And it's a lovely sort of day 🌞
