The Hangman | 
pickSuper fast novella set in Three Pines. Penny really takes her storytelling down to cover the basic facts of the case, with just enough of a twist to add some depth to the story. Some of the series regulars appear in the story, which technically falls between book six and seven in the series (though you can read this one wherever in the sequence, as it does not bring up any prior cases).

How the game is played:
Every member of the group can suggest a letter. In order to suggest a letter you must have read a book within the month of September that begins with the letter you are guessing. For example: In order to guess the letter H you must have read The Hobbit.

We start September 1st! Guess our #BuddyRead for October! The game is played like this: in order to guess a letter you have to first read a book that begins with the letter that you are guessing. so in order to guess the letter T you would have had to have read a book beginning with the letter T and so on.

I was thrilled to find out that Louise Penny wrote a novella for the Three Pines series. Novellas are my “go to” length for readathons and it was available from my library so it feels like kismet! 👌🏻 About to start Book #4 for #readathon!
pickA print book would've tipped me off to the fact that this is a novella. I had no idea when it downloaded that is was less than 100 pages. That aside, this would serve well as a sample or an introduction to Louise Penny's writing for someone unsure about making a commitment to the series.
I'm a couple days late with my #aprilreads but it's all good. I'd say my favorite read from #april was The Hangman. I love me some #gamache. I'm noticing that with summer approaching I'm starting to read more #mystery. I seem to do that every year. I don't know why but I LOVE it :)
