Leo wondered, “what if I did less- but did my best?”

I thought it was very cute how the first couple pages are just lists of all the things that need to be done. This could be used to explain how not to spread yourself too thin among too many different activities.

Published in 2006 by Candlewick Press. My favorite thing about this book was the message- that doing a ton isn‘t good if you can‘t give your best effort. The plot is very simple but the character is very relatable, maybe not so much to young kids but to older ones & adults.

This book has simple illustrations but they were enough to explain what Leo was doing. The illustrator only used the same colors throughout the book which made it simple.0

On the inside sleeve, it is written “Reynolds offers a timely meditation on a very modern affliction” which is extremely important in our busy, “go,go,go” world.

Peter Reynolds always does a great job with illustrations and his lettering. He has a way of keeping the images simple, yet they always a lot of parts with them. This book was relatable for adults and kids alike. Again, I‘m always fascinated with how Peter Reynolds illustrates his books especially using tea.

I feel like not many children are this overwhelmed by chores or have this much to do, so they can‘t relate. It almost felt like it was a book about adult struggles.

The illustrations were hectic and showed all of the Leo‘s, which set the mood for the book more and created a sense of chaos. The pictures show Leo doing chore that he doesn‘t explicitly say, which deepens the text. The pictures are consists with each page

I didn't get to go to #brattlebookshop on this trip to Boston, but I did get to visit #thebluebunny owned by children's author #peterreynolds. I went there especially to get this beautiful poster in honor of #amykrouserosenthal. Not only is the shop quaint & adorable, but the staff was fantastic! They gave me the book as a gift for coming from so far to visit the store. #teachersoflitsy #librariansoflitsy

Bookzombie I love the poster! 7y

Doesn't this cover remind you of the cover for "The Little Prince"? It struck me the moment I laid eyes on this. Obviously, there's differences, but the general parameters of both covers are striking to me. Maybe I'm being silly and too hardcore with books? Lol. #MrBookWantsToKnow

Suelizbeth I agree. The cursive title, the animation. Strikingly similar. 8y
