I'm not sure where this book could be used in a school, especially because I feel like parents may have a problem with a religious book being in the classroom. I do think the art style would be very cool for children to see!

Animals of the Bible by Dorothy P. Lathrop is a clear Caldecott winner! The illustration style is black and white only, with what looks like pencil stippling. This art style will be very cool for young children to see. This book explores animals spoken of in the Christian bible.

“Every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. “ Genesis 6: 13-22

For our school's cultural day, I‘d use “Animals of the Bible“ to introduce students to Christian cultural insights. Each day would explore a different worldview, with this book offering a look at biblical stories. It will help students understand Christian beliefs.

Through detailed illustrations of animals and carefully selected Bible quotes, this book not only educates but also immerses children in the culture.

#OnThisDay in 1938 the first Caldecott Medal was awarded, to Dorothy P. Lathrop for her work on Animals of the Bible. The award honors achievement in children's book illustration in American publications. Despite being named for an English illustrator, only American artists are eligible to win the prize.
