I personally would not choose to read this book in my classroom, however some of my students' families may choose to read this book at home!

“Animals of the Bible “by Dorothy P. Lathrop (1937) is designed to bring the biblical narrative of “The Story of the Animals Saved in the Ark“ closer to young readers. Through detailed black-and-white illustrations of animals and carefully selected Bible quotes, this book not only educates but also immerses children in the culture.
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger.“
I'm not sure where this book could be used in a school, especially because I feel like parents may have a problem with a religious book being in the classroom. I do think the art style would be very cool for children to see!

#OnThisDay in 1938 the first Caldecott Medal was awarded, to Dorothy P. Lathrop for her work on Animals of the Bible. The award honors achievement in children's book illustration in American publications. Despite being named for an English illustrator, only American artists are eligible to win the prize. Marcia Brown is, to date, the most awarded artist with three Caldecott Medals and three Honors (given to runners-up since 1971). #HistoryGetsLIT
