Felon Fitness: How to Get a Hard Body Without Doing Hard Time | William S. Kroger, Trey Teufel
4 posts
Forget the fancy equipment, friendly trainers, and cushy gym. This is a workout courtesy of the Department of Corrections. With jacked inmates as your motivation, certified trainer Teufel and counselor Kroger have locked down an exercise regimen that's guaranteed to show real results. If you're a workout lifer, this book provides a new way to approach your routine, working in cherry pickers and butterflies to extend your range of motion and informing you which less effective exercises to cease and desist. If you're fresh meat looking to tone up, the squats, push-ups, and burpies will get you yard-ready in less than a three-month stint. This program's legit. Each exercise comes straight from the cellblock and the routines are those of real inmates. It's the workout of a lifetime--from guys serving twenty-five to life.

#BFCr3 @wanderinglynn Thanks for leading us through 3 rounds of #BFC It could not have been easy to get us all organized and motivated but you did a great job. I know I was less active this time around but life happened. But even though I keep gaining and losing the same 6 pounds, the habit has been built and I‘m to the point where I miss it if I miss more than a day or two. Thanks for all your work! #TeamLetsDoThis

wanderinglynn Way to go! 🙌🏻 Sounds like you‘re on a good fitness path now. 👍🏻 5y

#bookfitnesschallenge week 1 check in. I started semi strong but thought that I‘d finished weak due to the 💩storm at work but going back over my notes, it wasn‘t as bad as I thought. Goals of 30 minutes of exercise 5xweek-I actually did 4. Half my weight in ounces of water-I only achieved that once. 12 books total for the whole 6 weeks: I actually read 5. I‘d up my book count but I‘m doing #campnano in July so I‘d better not. @wanderinglynn 👇

CocoReads The picture is of the small bit of fitness gear I‘m beginning to collect. I was at target yesterday and bought the small bin to keep my loops, sliders, and bands in. 5y
julesG 👏👏👏👏 Sounds like you had a very active week nonetheless. Also, your step count still is higher than mine from what I see in Fitbit. 5y

CocoReads Thanks @julesG! My step count is high only due to work, because I pretty much walk the whole time I‘m there. In the days I don‘t work, I‘m lucky to get 3,000 in. 5y
julesG I know, but that's actually positive. You get paid for walking. 😉 5y
CocoReads That‘s the way I look at it. 😂 5y
alisiakae Great job! Your water goal is a really hard one, be proud that you achieved it once! Most people never do that. 5y
CocoReads @4thhouseontheleft yeah, that is a hard one. I do drink a lot of water anyway. I may need to do some further thinking on that one. 5y
alisiakae Also wanted to add, I own the exact same 3 sets of weights! This pic looks like it could have been taken in my closet. 😂 5y
CocoReads @4thhouseontheleft you must be a fellow Target addict! 🤣🤣🤣 5y
Reecaspieces You go girl! I don‘t keep up like y‘all. I have exercised all my life. So, it‘s second nature to me. I guess I let fit bit do it for me. I need to do better lol 5y
CocoReads @Reecaspieces you‘re doing fine. I have not been an exerciser-to discover that I actually kinda like it has been a little shocking. I mean, I still don‘t like the sweat and I still won‘t do it in front of other people but I‘ve come to the realization that I miss it when I don‘t do it 5y
britt_brooke Nice work!! 🙌🏻💪🏻 5y

I have a lofty to-do list for July. Camp #NaNoWriMo the start of #BBRC and #BFC round 2. Hoping to start the new school year off in August refreshed, accomplished and with more energy.

What do you think Team 6?

@julesG

CocoReads Great goals! You can do it! I thought about camp nano this year because I miss it but we‘re short handed until August so I‘m pretty sure I just don‘t have it in me this year. 6y
wanderinglynn Great goals! 🙌🏻 6y
LibrarianJen @CocoReads that‘s understandable. Camp NaNo is more flexible in how much or little you do. It‘s the November NaNo that you have to write 50k words in one month. 6y

Reecaspieces Awesome!!! 6y
CocoReads @librarianjen yes, I‘ve done camp before. I‘m still on the fence because I have stuff that needs editing, stuff the needs major rewrites, and always new ideas percolating. I guess I still have time to decide. It‘s not July yet! 6y
imabusybee Wow Great goals 6y
Moony Good goals! I wrote some years ago also at nanowrimo. :) Have fun! 6y
julesG Oh, great goals, especially the writing and the B&B challenge. I should commit to writing, too. 6y
Clwojick These are some great goals! I just signed up for #BBRC too. 🙌🏻 5y

Today's #muscles prompt reminded me about this gem I found a while back when I was working circulation. 💪#AprilBookShowers
