I just finished this one last night. Overall I really liked the story. It got a bit clunky in the middle and confusing but I wanted to know what happened next. I'm blaming it for giving me weird dreams last night. It is scifi but also has elements of fantasy and magic. This was a story originally pitched to be a tv show. It would be quite expensive due to the special effects that would be needed. I'd watch it though. A very interesting concept.
It looks like I am in the minority in my opinion of this book. I enjoyed it enough that I immediately went on to the next one. I found it to be a fun little adventure story. This was one of few Gaiman books that I had not read yet, I picked it up at used book shop. Glad I did!
I would particularly recommend this to young teens that enjoy sci-fi. Next time I‘m asked for recommendations for pre-teen/teen boys, I will have another to add!
I‘m trying my best to listen to all of his books that are available at my library. 🤷🏼♀️
I wish I'd liked this better. It's usually my kind of thing, jumping dimensions and alternate Earths, but there's very little world building and the MC is kind of a doofus until near the end when he has to stop the bad guys and save his friends. It's the beginning of a trilogy, but I'm not sure if I want to go further, although I hate to leave any story unfinished. 3 💥💥💥 out of 5
Not as rich or fun as I'd expect of Neil Gaiman. Don't know that I'll read the rest of the series.
Tech week has me brain fried and exhausted. But my hour-long commute to the theatre is better with a new audiobook and I just picked up some easy reading from the library for my “down time” (if I get any.) #stagemanagerlife
What can I say? I saw that Neil Gaiman wrote another one, so I downloaded this bad boy right away. This is the most science fictiony book he has, so stay away if scifi is not your cup of tea. This is like if DARK MATTER met Valerian. I enjoyed it. Such a unique concept and obviously its Neil, so well written. Not his best, but entertaining to say the least! 🤖👩🚀🧙♂️🌐

Had a bit of a panic when I didn't have an audiobook for today's commute. Glad I saw this title!
In this series the main character is able to walk between worlds. #FarFlung #MayBookFlowers #BookNerd 📚❤️
I listened to audio; narration by Christopher Welch (wasn't a fan). Story includes travel between alternate worlds. It felt like the protagonist kept trying to give me science lessons. The story didn't build well, there was no suspense. Something bad would happen, & then quickly they'd solve with either magic or as the writer puts it dumb luck.
I was expecting a lot more given that it's a Neil Gaiman, but was sorely disappointed.
