pickI wish I had easy access to books like this when I was a teenager. Foz Meadows delivers another glorious feast of intricate worldbuilding, psychological depth, emotional intensity, characters who interrogate their assumptions, and villains who're more than they first appear. Plus, pretty well everyone's queer.
This wraps up the story begun in AN ACCIDENT OF STARS, but I dearly hope Meadows publishes more books set in the Manifold Worlds.
It's been a tough couple of days here. Last night my aunt got confirmation that the spot on her lung is cancer and it's spread to her lymph nodes--but the doctors can't take action until they fix her heart failure, which might not even be possible without surgery they can't perform on account of the cancer.
Basically, everything is terrible and all I want to do is read a fuckton of SFF and maybe eat some fancy mix.
I visited three libraries and borrowed three books, as one does.
With all the excitement for ACoWaR, I didn't realize this #sequel came out on Tuesday too!! I'll have to wait until I'm home from the wedding to get it, but I've ordered it 😊 also fits today's #maybookflowers for #agalaxyfarfaraway!

You know that quote from Kafka, the one about a good book being "an axe for the frozen sea" in us? Yep, this book was DEFINITELY that for me, despite the many loose plot threads.
