1. Crispin Burke from A Lady's Code of Misconduct
2. I don't mind love triangles, but it's not my favorite trope.
3. Definitely hot and sexy

Well, it‘s been a lackluster #readathon for me- 3.5 reading hours so far, and only one book finished, but this was a fun diversion from a day of work and parenting. Off to bed now, and maybe I‘ll hit my 4 hot goal before @DeweysReadathon is over!

I want to start this tonight, but I‘ll read some nonfiction instead and save this for the first few hours of #readathon tomorrow!!

My goal for tomorrow is a very modest 4 hrs. I‘m solo parenting two kids, my babysitter is out of town, and I need to get a few projects knocked out for work. Sooooo...that 4 hours feels pretty ambitious. I usually try to go away for @DeweysReadathon but it wasn‘t in the cards this year.

Jas16 Hope you enjoy whatever time you get to spend with the readathon! 7y

This one took me by surprise. Complex and multilayered protagonists, Jane and Crispin will definitely shove aside preconceived notions of how a historical romance should unfold. A truly fantastic book.

My first by this author but certainly not my last. Her writing is gorgeous, the story detailed, the characters engrossing. A must for any historical romance fans. #romantsy

Heads up #romantsy fans, this one is pretty darn impressive! There was a lot more to it than just the romance--the other parts of the plot and how they impacted the romance were super engaging and really kept the pages turning. The characters were legitimately flawed in ways that felt unique. And while I'm usually not on board with amnesia as a plot point, it too even felt fresh and not at all cliched. Definitely recommend! #netgalley

EloisaJames Why 'of' ? Or is this just a retro English prof quirk? 8y
EloisaJames Why 'of' ?? 8y
raelaschoenherr @EloisaJames In the title? Maybe because it would be "code of conduct"? 8y

Read. This. Book. This is an absolute gem of a story and I enjoyed it so much! The hero, Crispin, is into politics and I mean he is the power-grabbing manipulative politician of his time. His ambition is to be prime minister. Jane is his match in political knowledge.

The story is both personal and political and we see what can turn a person into a power hungry manipulator and if a decision can change the course of a country. Great pairing!

Another great angsty romance from Meredith Duran! A really well done amnesia plot with a stubborn, humorous political hero and heroine. #romantsy

I loooooooooved this book. Our heroine can't get her inheritance unless she's married; our hero is attacked and left for dead. What harm can come, our heroine thinks, from claiming to be married to a dead man? Only thing: our hero recovers -- but doesn't remember anything of the last five years. TWIST! Both heroine and hero were appealing and endearing, and their romance felt real and welcome. The sex was hot & free of bad euphemisms.

Truffle mac and cheese and a delightful romance. This icy Monday is tolerable.
