It is a nonfiction book because it gives the history of the Grand Canyon and provides information to inform its readers. Nonfiction is supposed to distinguish between fact, opinion, and theory. “The canyon is much hotter and drier at the bottom than at the top. Because of this, different groups of plants and animals, or ecological communities, are found at different elevations of the canyon.“
I loved reading this book due to the awe and wonder the Grand Canyon has given me as a young girl. In high school I had the chance to take a science class that did some awesome nature inspired field trips. In 1989 during spring break we got to hike down the Grand Canyon and spend a week white water rafting down the Colorado River. It‘s an experience I‘ll never forget. That‘s me in the blue shorts.
#LitsySpringBreak Day 30: Back in 2012, almost ten years ago now, we did this wonderful tour at #GrandCanyon. Great times. I am glad to revisit these photos.
