I listened to the audio book version of this with my son. It sparked several good conversations and life, death, and what makes something a happy ending.

My kids and I have recently fallen in love with this author, (Appelt) so we picked this up at the bookstore after church today. 😍
I really liked this novel and it's definitely a good book if you're looking for a quick read or don't know what to read.
Picked up a bunch of middle grade reads at the library today! Plus Throne of Glass, because I couldn't resist. #bookhaul
Whipped through this, knew it would be tough. Grief here is sharp yet ultimately healing. #preview #youngerreaders
#septphotochallenge Made Me Cry. This middle grade book really got to me. I read it around the time we lost a student, a coworker's daughter, in a car accident. I did not know the young lady well, but a lot of long-time employees watched her grow up here and really grieved. She left behind a younger sister. This story is told from the PoV of the little sister who is left behind after her sibling dies in a different kind of accident.
This was sweet and moving. Though short, it didn't feel like a children's book at all.
Early morning coolness seeping through the windows fits right in with the quiet loveliness of this. I think I love _Pax_ more, though.
