Arsene Lupin Vs Sherlock Holmes
Arsene Lupin Vs Sherlock Holmes | Maurice Leblanc
3 posts | 6 read | 3 to read
"Arsne Lupin had predicted that Holmes would accept his challenge to fight. What is more, the letter written by Lupin showed that he wanted such a fight, and that it was part of his plan to pit his wits against his rival once again." This volume contains two adventures which pit the gentleman thief Arsne Lupin against Sherlock Holmes, the world's most famous detective. In 'The Blonde Lady', Holmes must discover the identity of a mysterious female thief who is linked to Lupin, while in 'The Jewish Lamp' he finds out that the theft of a lamp containing a precious jewel conceals an astonishing secret. While their tone is at times ironic and firmly tongue-in-cheek, the two stories in Arsne Lupin vs Sherlock Holmes bear all the hallmarks of classic detective fiction, and will put a smile on the lips and set the pulses racing of all fans of mystery and detective fiction.

Maybe more of an « it‘s not you, it‘s me ». I felt that the parody of Watson (here named Wilson) veered too much into « Stupid Watson » territory, which I don‘t like.
(For Stupid Watson, see Hark! A Vagrant: http://www.harkavagrant.com/index.php?id=210)

CaramelLunacy Not fond of a Stupid Watson, but at least we can lure him into peril with jam! 4y
