Life as a bird can be stressful! From worrying about airplanes, windows, and getting enough worms to eat, it is clear that birds can be anxious beings. Through a light-touch, quizzical depiction of bird behaviour, All Birds Have Anxiety uses colourful images and astute explanations to explore with gentle humour what it means to live with anxiety day-to-day, and how to begin to deal with it. Following the style of the best-selling All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome and All Dogs Have ADHD, wonderful colour photographs express the complex and difficult ideas related to anxiety disorder in an easy-to-understand way. This simple yet profound book validates the deeper everyday experiences of anxiety, provides an empathic understanding of the many symptoms associated with anxiety, and offers compassionate suggestions for change. The combination of understanding and gentle humour make this the ideal introduction to anxiety disorder for those diagnosed with this condition, their family and friends and those generally interested in understanding anxiety.

Being the most isolated capital has its advantages at times like this. We are still able to get about and coffee shops , restaurants and little shops still open. Aware of social distancing in all of them. Got this delightful book in our local independent bookshop. Great news landlord is halving rent and hopefully bank will put payments on hold. Would hate to lose this wonderful local shop. #2020joybooks

Centique That is good that the bookshop is getting some help. I am worried about small local businesses. Our shops etc are still open but many people are avoiding going out so they‘re very quiet. Our PM did a really sensible clear communication today about the different levels of virus alert we will go through and what we‘re expected to do. Made me feel a bit calmer 😊👍 Hugs to you guys 💕💕 5y

Peculiarly wonderful!

What anxiety feels like, as depicted by the most expressive birds you‘re ever likely to encounter. Followed by helpful coping strategies & reassurance, from some equally characterful birds.

It manages to convey a huge amount without ever talking down to the reader, and as most of it‘s written as we/us (by the birds. obvs.) it‘s helpfully non-personal.

I think this might be very very clever. And did I mention the birds??!

LiteraryinPA What a cool concept! 5y

rockpools @ljuliel Isn‘t it fab? It might be a crowded crane - there‘s a key at the back of the book, but it‘s an ebook and it‘s v tiny, so I‘m not sure! 5y
rockpools @ljuliel *crowned crane - makes much more sense!! 5y
ljuliel I don‘t believe they have any of those in my neck of the woods. I wish they did. They look like they‘d be quite entertaining. 5y

I am officially in love with this book. It is a simple explanation of anxiety. What I like about this book is that it may be written for kids who have anxiety, but it can be read with kids who do not, to better understand their friends and classmates. They use the coolest bird pictures to illustrate various points. I think one of my favorites is the pelican screeching.
