Oscar Wilde solves the murders of a poodle, a servant, and the head of an acting dynasty. In the process, he discovers a series of secrets that led to the murders.

This one (#3 in the series) was not nearly as interesting as the previous two in the series. It took over a hundred pages before the mystery even started, there were way too many characters to keep track of, and it was just really long and drawn out.

TheSpineView Bummer.. 2y
Scochrane26 Guess I won‘t feel bad about not continuing this series after the 2nd book. If I get back to it, I can skip the 3rd. 2y

Andrew65 Well done on finishing but a shame it wasn‘t better. 👏👏👏 2y
CoffeeNBooks @Andrew65 I have plenty of other series I can focus on this year instead. 😂 2y
CoffeeNBooks @Scochrane26 I thought maybe it was just me, but I saw a similar review on Goodreads. The 4th book in the series is about vampires, so I have high hopes for it! 🧛‍♂️ 2y
CoffeeNBooks @TheSpineView Good thing I have an entire list of series I want to finish this year! 😂 2y

Least favourite of the series so far - 3 1/2 stars - I think probably due to the lack of the camaraderie between Wilde & Doyle, but it completes #Victorian for my #jennyis30 bingo card & #covercrush for #booked2020. @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage

Also book 7 for #murder2020 @Tove_Reads & Letter #O for #Litsyatoz @BookishMarginalia

Cinfhen Such a beautiful cover 💘💘💘great choice 5y
jenniferw88 @Cinfhen this series was the obvious choice for this prompt once I started thinking about it - the first book was mainly bought because of the cover 🤣🤣🤣! 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Love the cover! 💕 5y

The next set of books @DeborahSmall sent were these Oscar Wilde mysteries which look like such fun!

TobeyTheScavengerMonk Does Ring of Death come first? I ask because I kind of want this immediately. 8y
ScorpioBookDreams I think it's the Candlelight Murders first. Called the Death of No Importance in America though. 8y
