Kubrick's Game
Kubrick's Game | Derek Taylor Kent
5 posts | 1 read | 3 to read
What if Stanley Kubrick left behind more than just his classic films? What if he also left behind an elaborate puzzle cleverly buried within his films, which would lead the player toward a treasure that could change the course of human history? An often comedic, sometimes tragic, always entertaining look at an extraordinary "What If?" adventure.

My husband and I are looking for an adventure/mystery/thriller puzzle book. Something similar to 39 Clues but for adults...with a National Treasure vibe to it.

We read the tagged book a couple of years back and loved it. Today, a B&N employee recommended me Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore. I bought it but I'm not sure if it's what we're looking for.

Any recommendations?

IndoorDame Have you ever read ? 10mo
rretzler I read lots of mysteries but can‘t think of anything that is like what you‘ve described. The closest I can think of is The Inheritance Games series, which is YA, but still readable for adults. It‘s a 3 book series which won tons of awards and now has a spin-off series. Definite puzzle feature. 10mo
AmyG I was just going to say The Eight, too. Like minds @IndoorDame Also maybe (edited) 10mo

CatLass007 I‘ve read Bright Ideas… It‘s okay but I agree with @IndoorDame and @AmyG about The Eight. And you can‘t go wrong with The Name of the Rose. 10mo

TieDyeDude I've never read 39 Clues, but are you thinking along the lines of The Da Vinci Code? https://bookriot.com/books-like-the-da-vinci-code/ 9mo

What do you do when you're on medical leave and you get your reading spark back on? Well, join the #boutofbooks readathon of course. 🤗
Day 1 challenge: post what you're currently reading. I am reading #kubricksgame and listening to #readyplayerone. So far I am enjoying both books.
