A lot of violence against women which is quite shocking.
Read the first 8 stories now and I'm really flashed... The stories are great, some of them, like "The Screwfly Solution" or "Your Faces, o my Sisters" are really disturbing and make me think about the world we live in...

Happy birthday to Alice Sheldon, who wrote under the name James Tiptree, Jr. I cannot recommend her story "The Screwfly Solution" enough - it had such an impact on me as a piece of feminist SF. But as important as that story is to me, it's the only one I've read - so I went on a library hunt and wound up grabbing some past winners of the Tiptree Award, too.
