100 pages in and it‘s not keeping my focus! It‘s not that it‘s bad but it‘s just a little too... sleepy? Does that make sense? I feel bad about DNF it but I just have to many other books I‘m excited about and this one is gonna take up all my time. Donating to the free library

This book has been on my shelf for years, I‘ve tried reading it a couple times and it‘s never stuck, well I picked it up again and it‘s stickin!
My only problem now is, I swear this book weighs like 15 pounds!! My wrists!! It doesn‘t look like it but this thing is a brick 🧱

reading_rainbow @TheNeverendingTBR ive only just started it, but so far I‘m enjoying the characters and small town feel. It‘s to early to say, but this book might be a little underrated, enjoying it so far! 3y

Found this last month at my favorite library book sale! It won the Bram stoker Award in 2016 so this is gotta be a decent horror read, and it's compared to IT, and summer of night so sounds pretty good!!

Anyone else subscribe to Nocturnal Readers Box? Have you received your June box yet? Kinda bummed about how far behind they are. I finally received my shipping notification for June but tracking info says it has not shipped yet. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I am extremely sympathetic to what they have been going through but I hope they get caught up soon. It‘s such an amazing subscription box!

DeeLew @vivastory I agree. They really need to hire help or find a way to be more organized. I‘ve already been charged for June, July, and August and haven‘t even gotten the June box. If they don‘t get caught up by mid-August I‘ll probably have to cancel. 😔 7y

parasolofdoom I just got a somewhat petulant email that all June boxes are indeed out. I'm more upset with the sporadic communication than late timeline tbh. People just wanted to know if everything has been sent and wee upset no clear answer was made for a week. 7y

DeeLew @parasolofdoom I‘m a little irritated at that email. They need someone to handle their communication and customer service. I don‘t know why they are angry. Many of us have said nothing despite being charged for 3 boxes that we haven‘t received. It has been over a week since I got the email claiming that the June box was sent and the tracking # is useless. 😬 7y

parasolofdoom @DeeLew I am too and have been pretty annoyed at the way they have responded to other concerned customers on social media. It's not really asking too much just to want to know where they are in shipping out a product paid for well over 2 months ago. 7y

parasolofdoom @DeeLew actually just the fact that I've had to prowl FB and Instagram for any idea irritated me. Just a line or so that 1/2 the boxes are with the carrier, all boxes are out, etc in email would have been loads better than radio silence. 7y

parasolofdoom @DeeLew I cancelled right after the charge for June because I thought the late shipping in previous months was getting ridiculous. I'm trying out a new box that has a horror option. I'm guessing NRB boxes will show up early August based on how long my shipping always took even with expedited. 7y

DeeLew @parasolofdoom Yep. A person actually created a group on Facebook called NRB Updates for those of us who are still waiting. We‘ve been able to vent there. I guess I‘ll write it off and hope that we actually get our July box. I‘m going to cancel before they charge me for September. It‘s crazy that they keep charging. 7y

parasolofdoom *problem I've ever had was PageHabit forgetting to apply coupon codes and they credited everyone 10% off next box and at the time, THAT was the most annoying box problem I had come across 6y

At the beginning it was soooo like Stephen King's It, but it's more like a tribute than a simple copy-and-paste book. I loved the depth of the characters ( ❤ Mossy) and, even if the end is not a secret, I found interesting seeing the characters fight their own demons. And Crawford's ending is sooo ironic, I loved it (yes I'm evil 😈)

Current read : A mix between Stephen King's It and Nightmare on Elm street. 1960's, the Butcher's child killings terrorize the population of Haven. Until a man gets caught carrying a wounded girl. Indeed, his childhood scar disfigures him and seems to prove to the community he's the Butcher. He goes to jail. 17 years later, accompanied by a priest who believes in his innocence, the scarred man goes back to Haven. And the murders started again....

Although a bit predictable with many similarities to Stephen King‘s It, this was a good, solid horror story. The monster was unique and very formidable. Denny and his friend Billy were very likable and very brave in the face of danger.
