The Hutterites are similar to the Amish and Mennonites in beliefs (Anabaptist) but more communal, allowing technology, and not so isolated from the community. Maendel writes about teaching in her colony, about education, gender roles, and traditions. As an insider she doesn't have any criticism of the community, but she also doesnt portray it as severe or rigid as other writings I've seen. Thanks to a Canadian friend for sending this my way.
