Welcome to Litsy!

When I first read the Swallows and Amazons books in 2019/2020, I knew I would want to reread them over and over. I've been working my way through them slowly and enjoying them every bit as much - or even more - as I did the first time. Winter Holiday is adorable, with plenty of wintry adventures to go around. I personally had an idyllic childhood, but I still think I would trade to be a Swallow or Amazon! 😂

I love that the Ransome Swallows & Amazons books are on Hoopla, I love that my library caved & joined Hoopla, it's awesome. This old-school children-roughing-for-the-heck-of-it British holiday stuff is what my brain needs right now.
That said. You guys. These kids are making my anxiety spike every other chapter. 😰

I've been seeing this bingo card around and keep forgetting to look it up! My understanding is it started Dec. 21, so filling in with books I have read since then means I already have a good start!!
@Honeybeegirl just let me know if I misunderstood and there was a different start date!! ❤️

4. Beyond the fun of getting to know a delightful group of Littens even better, I really loved the Guess the Book challenge. Exchanging Christmas cards and chatting with the team on Slack has also been super fun.

Super busy weekend with family shenanigans, so I am less than 2hrs into #24B42020 - however still think I can hit my goal of 10hrs. This book is just as delightful as the earlier ones in the series, and like all of the Jonathan Cape editions, has a fantastic #bookmap !!!

I know some people prefer new books, but I love mine secondhand, full of history I'll never know. Just knowing someone else read this book in 1949 makes me so happy! I have been slowly collecting this specific edition of the Swallows & Amazon books, which can be hard when sellers on eBay don't post correct info. Finally found Winter Holiday on AbeBooks & messaged the seller to see if he happened to have any others in the same edition - ⬇️

My second-favourite (these things are important!) Swallows and Amazons book, looking like it might have been read more than once. I loved this series! Sadly my morse code and semaphore skills are irretrievably rusty...
