“charles wrote his wish in a piece of paper and tied it around a branch of the wish tree”
I loved the pictures in this book. They were so bright and it made me think about all the details of winter.
This makes a sweet little nondenominational #HolidayRead about a little boy who goes out looking for a wish tree even though the only one who believes one exists is his dog. #WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers @StayCurious

I liked this story, but trying to say why is hard. It was sweet, and about a kid playing with his toboggan in the snow. He helped out the animals while looking for a wish tree. But we never found out what his wish was, or why he needed the tree in the first place. I like the story, but don‘t think it has the staying power to be on shelves 50 years from now.

This probably looks more like a Halloween post, but it‘s all about the tagged book. After reading the book the schoolchildren walked to the library and put their wishes on the tree. Community members are encouraged to do the same. (Frankly it‘s been so gray and rainy that a colored photo would look pretty much the same.) 😀
The Wish Tree written by Kyo Maclear and illustrated by Chris Turnham is a Modern Fantasy book that tells the tale of a little boy named Charles who wants to find a wishing tree. His brother and sister do not believe there is any such thing. But Charles and his Boggin do believe there must be. They journey into the woods singing along. They climb up hills and down frosty meadows.
This is such a lovely book about determination, helping others and friendship! A perfect addition to any winter ❄️ theme collection.
