I love this series set in fictional Ballybucklebo especially the early books. They are cozy and heartwarming. An Irish Country Christmas is #3 in the series.

TheBookHippie Oh I‘ve heard of these I‘ve even gifted them 🤣💚 should probably read one! 11mo
TheBookHippie Do they have to be read in order? 11mo
Deblovestoread @TheBookHippie they do have threads that continue throughout the series as characters age etc. But the also jump around in time exploring the pasts of the main characters so I would say it isn‘t essential. 11mo
AllDebooks Ballybucklebo is the best place name 😅 11mo

I'm a few weeks behind on my Christmas audiobook. A lovely book to listen to in the weeks leading up to Christmas. I put my headphones in while I was cooking, backing, quilting, decorating, cleaning... I live in the desert, so it helped me to get in the mood. The narrator has a lovely brogue, too! Just more life in the Northern Ireland village of Balleybucklebo. The characters are quircky and its a joy to follow the lives of the two doctors.

On Day 22 of #bookadventcalendar, I finally finished wrapping (well, except for one last book present I‘m reading first). This is not the gift but it looked pretty against the sparkly wrapping paper. @LeahBergen

LeahBergen I‘d like an Irish Country Christmas, too. 😆 5y

I enjoyed listening to this in the car. I don't think I would have read it on paper however. It had a lot of slow places. I wanted it to be more like James Herriot's work. I enjoyed the small Irish town doctor stories. I did not feel the "big" story was anything but completely predictable and a real letdown.

#booked2019 #setinireland this is a very cute story of two country doctors practicing and living in a small village in Northern Ireland. It takes place in the 1960s before the troubles. The doctors are busy helping all the villagers, taking care of the sick, putting a shady doctor in his place, and looking for love.

Cinfhen Here‘s a Northern Ireland for you @GlassAsDiamonds 6y
GlassAsDiamonds @Cinfhen 😊😊😊 Many thanks! (Will however probably go with Paul McVeigh‘s - saw him at LitFest but it‘s going to be a tad grittier, he wrote about growing up during the Troubles...). This looks lovely 😊😊😊 6y
Cinfhen You kind of go for the grit @GlassAsDiamonds 😜 6y

I have been in a total fun reading slump lately. I have had so much reading for work. My little Sonny and I are trying to get back into it! #readingslump

Dr. Barry Laverty is spending his first Christmas in Ballybucklebo. Everything is going smoothly with the local citizens except his love interest won't be home for the holidays, the usual is cropping up, and a competing doctor has come to a neighboring town with less than scientifically proven treatments.

Curled up under my Christmas blanket, reading an Irish Christmas book, listening to Celtic Christmas music, and drinking gingerbread hot chocolate. What do you mean its not Christmas yet? ❄️☃️☕
