Here‘s a few books from my stacks that feature a #VehicleCvr Ihave read all of them except The Lost Ticket which is in a #OUABC box that I hope to get to sometime this year. The tagged book is a fun foodie memoir favorite.

A charming memoir about living in many states in the US with a loving family. It is also shows how food and cooking has helped to bind the family together and move past grief.

Lovely midwestern family stories based around food. I liked parts 1 and 3 best which were about the author‘s immediate family. Part 2, which centered on her grandparents, had some sweet stories but I found myself tuning out a lot.

Enjoyed reading this memoir of this midwest family. Written to entertain.

"Once I asked my grandmother if she loved me. It was in the middle of a hectic weekend morning when she was acting as short-order cook for a flock of kids and six adults. With a bit if exasperation, she replied quickly, 'I don't have to tell you I love you. I made you pancakes.' I was then handed my plate and told to sit down. She was right. I could taste her love in every bite."

This is one if those books that makes me want to write my own. Everyone has a story. This is a lovely tribute to the author's family and includes lots of yummy sounding recipes.

Have read this in the past and loved it. Reading Again for bookclub. The audiobook is good on this one also.

Outdoor reading is the best reading. 🌳

Such a cute memoir. Read for #BookRiot challenge, and enjoyed reminiscing with the recipes, photos, and stories. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really love this book! I have read it and then also listened to the audiobook and it has a great narrator. It is filed many times with the cookbooks, it is really a memoir with recipes. The recipes are things the author remembers about growing up in a resourceful family. When I read it, it brought up so many funny memories for me from the time this time period. It is really a great read!!! So worth it

I absolutely loved this book! I was unsure about reading something referred to as a "good memoir" but am so very happy my local library had this book. There is so much heart in this family's stories. My mouth watered at all the recipes too! I would recommend this to everyone! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️?

This is was exactly what I look for in a food memoir: great stories, life lessons and recipes that spring from a place, a time and a history. The last chapter made me cry and the epilogue summed up all the lessons perfectly. The author's background as a journalist was evident in the concise writing.

My three favorite things: books, bikes and ferries. Today I got all three chaperoning 8th graders as they biked to Camp Orkila on Orcas Island.

Is there such a thing as an 'untrue fact'? Is 'true fact' an oxymoron or just a redundancy?
