I tried, I really did. I wanted to like this but I just didn‘t.

Honestly, I'm hoping for a little more sleep, as a bit of a lie-in would be nice. Not sure it's going to happen though, so I'm pretty okay just staying here, reading more of this charming book.
1. Currently sunny & mid-50's. Supposed to be stormy & mid-70's later. Tonight the cold front comes through, though.
2. Hyacinths, violets, peach trees, redbud trees, dogwood trees - basically ALL
3. It really depends on the person; I try to recommend books I think someone will actually love. But the tagged book changed me so profoundly that I recommend it to everyone.

1. No, but I love to read books about an area that we are planning to visit!
2. Can't think of anything - reading a book is pretty much the first thing I do when a topic catches my interest 😆
3. I've been thinking about this, and just am not sure. The tagged book really spoke to my soul when I read it. Growing up, I frequently reread Louisa May Alcott's An Old-Fashioned Girl - Polly was such a heroine to me.

I'm super excited that my little sister/neighbor/best friend is one our newest Littens!!! I hope that you will all welcome @RosesintheOcean to the never-ending book party known as Litsy. :-D
PS I've posted a picture of her latest addition to the family, Rupert. #catsofLitsy
1. The tagged book is what I think of as a gentle read - not much happens; it's a very quiet novel. But it is somehow stunningly beautiful, and was easily my favorite book in 2017, the year I first read it.
2. It's been so long I can't even remember!!
3. Anything fresh from the garden!
4. Only two!!
5. I've been really enjoying everyone's recommended books!!

A woman inherits an old house in a small country village (from her Cousin she only met once as a child) and decides to leave her life in London to settle there. I loved the idea that the house was a character and that she grew to love her cousin from sharing it with her—and the other things she left there, like the tiny things. Some of the side stories in the village became a little lengthy for me, but overall, I really liked this one!
A quiet, relaxing Saturday afternoon. The birds are singing in the trees, I‘m listening to the latest album by Ludovico Einaudi and catching up on a few tasks at hand: snail mail for #LitsyLove and #JB, journaling and making my way through my current reads. I love days like this - they fill me with a quiet peace and a sense of restoration.
Elizabeth Goudge has been a firm favourite of mine for awhile. I particularly adore Goudge‘s delightful way of describing nature, and her keen observation and tenderness for the complexities of mankind. With themes of renewal, growth and redemption, ‘The Scent of Water‘ will be the perfect spring read. Now, I‘m off to read a couple of chapters, and treat myself to a freshly baked blueberry tea scone.

The one in top is a 1900 Knickerbocker Press edition of A Christmas Carol. I need to find someone who can repair it. #seasonsreadings2016 #redsandgreens
