It's moments like this when I wish there were an option somewhere between "pick" and "so-so". Is this book your standard, predictable romance? Yes. Is it entertaining? Mostly.

Not bad, I just kept getting the feeling like I'd read it before, and I know I haven't. A perfectly acceptable romance that didn't knock my socks off.

Started reading the You Had Me at Christmas anthology with Play by Karina Bliss, a novella that's part of her rockstar series. It was a lovely romance between a couple who met in high school, got married young, now have two kids and are struggling to adapt to life in the limelight. I enjoyed the dual POV and their marriage felt realistic. I'm glad Kayla and Jared managed to iron out their issues.

#bookanddinner: suddenly had a craving for steak so that's what we had. You can see my friend has already started eating in the background while I take this pic. Really enjoyed reading this rockstar romance over the weekend. Great dialogue between the two main characters, Karina Bliss did an awesome job in making me believe in their chemistry and compatibility. Was pleasantly surprised at how introspective their romance was. #romantsy

Train rides are great for reading time. Public transport in Singapore is very good so it's the primary way of going around (also because taxis and Uber rides are very expensive). That's why my Kindle comes in handy. I always have it in my bag unless I have a physical book with me. Do you read when you're commuting?

I loved these two books! They're rock star romances with a very unique voice--super hot, but also thoughtful. Rise's heroine is a history prof who takes on a rock star bio for money--what a clash of cultures! It's often not true, but in this case you really need to read Rise first as the plot of Fall comes entirely from Rise. #romantsy #rockstars #romance #litsyrecs #lovedit

Bought this rockstar romance after a conversation on Twitter where authors Stephanie Burgis and Laura Florand recommended the series. I stayed up way too late last night because I was in denial that the weekend is over.😪 I was sampling Rise as recommended by @meandmybooks , I don't think I've read any of Karina Bliss' books before. Not finished with the sample yet but I have a feeling I'll buy this.

So because I stayed up, I needed coffee! One of my go-to cafes near the office is this place called Strangers@Work.☕👍
