Fourteen-year-old Will doesn't think he has much in common with his family. Nothing, that is, except a strange passion for digging which he shares with his father. But one day, Will's dad mysteriously vanishes down a tunnel - part of London's vast, labyrinthine underground system. With his friend Chester, Will decides to investigate. But soon the boys find themselves deep in darkness, unearthing a terrifying secret which may cost them their lives... This riveting bestseller oozes the mysterious fascination of the underground and all its hideous possibilities. Creepy, tantalising and original, it's full of thrills to keep you burrowing in!

This book was not good. It does not catch my attention in any way. I feel it does not pull me in and is too descriptive. They spent too much time on the description of the scenes and not enough time for writing a good book. I have read to chapter 8 so far and there has only been one scene that caught my eye. I would not recommend this book to anyone who prefers more action while reading.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Carson! Let's find you a new book when you come to class! I was just missing the theme! 4/6 3y

This book is about a young teen that has a great connection with his father and they both find this secret underground tunnel under London. His dad disappears while they were going in it and Will has to find what really happened to his father with his friend. If you like books with a lot of mystery and action, this is for you. This book is in 3rd person POV because the author doesn't use I, he is the one explaining the story about someone else.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Sergiu! If you don't like the book, tell me and I can find you a new one instead of struggling with this one! Not all books are books everyone will like! 6/6 4y

#yawednesday #adventure
I chose tunnels because as a kid all I wanted to do was go on adventures in my back yard and dig until I reached the other side. I‘ll admit I can‘t remember the ending so I need to reread the series! But I remember being super into these books.

TheFunkyBookworm This sounds great!!! Will def check it out!! 6y

Will shares his father's passion for archaeology and the two dig tunnels under London, for fun. Soon after a strange artifact is donated to his museum, Mr. Burrows goes missing and Will and his friend set out to find him.

Will and Chester stumble into an underground society run by some truly scary bad guys who use their twisted religion to control the populace. Before the boys can find Will's dad, they are captured and tortured by the evil Styx.
