I was not expecting this to be a holiday story. The rhymes were quite fun even though the cadence was a bit harsh, and the story was fun. The illustrations match perfectly and help make the surprise ending all that much better.

No one wants to take home the Ugly Pumpkin. Sure, he doesn't look like any of the other pumpkins, but why does everyone have to tease him so much? The poor, lonely pumpkin goes in search of a place where he'll fit in - and finally discovers the truth about who he is and where he belongs.

pickJust read this with my 3 and 1 year old, Penelope and Roman. What a fun, cute, little book. Penelope and I learned that it's ok not to fit in, you will always find your place. AND that it's not ok to use mean names like 'ugly' to describe someone. Now on to a fun craft.
