Couldn't find on Litsy this Korean postmodernist author's actual novel "I've had enough of you".
I particularly enjoyed the direct and cruelly honest tone in which she portrays the social challenges faced by young independent women and the falsity and superficiality of social interaction. The confessions of a woman in her thirties, at war with marriage, working hard in a large company and studying to become a veterinary in Africa's wilderness.

A Korean woman in Berlin, with an insufferable, gaslighting (boy?)friend.

Second book finished for Women in Translation readathon! I really enjoyed this book about a Korean writer in Germany. Lots of interesting references to language, books, and music.
Book with the translator credited on the cover #witreadathon #womenintranslation #wit

mhillis @saresmoore It might not be for everyone, but I really enjoyed it! The relationships between characters were intriguing too. 5y

A metaphysical conceit in the wild! Elaborate and far-fetched, and, on the subject of the terrifying alternate reality of a traumatic breakup, much too real.

WHY is the narrator still friends with a boring, incurious, callous jackass like Joachim? Jeezus, just dump him so I don't have to hear him talk anymore.

Spoils from an after-work trip to my local indie store today. I am super excited about both of these.
