This one was a little darker imo. I like where the storyline is going, a very natural progression. I was in a huge reading slump during this read, it took me too long to finish it. Not the fault of the book at all.

☕☕☕ and a half/5
This is the fourth book in the Southern Ghost Hunter series and I love them all. Verity is so strong willed and the stories keep getting better. Such nice and quick reads, love to read them after a emotionally draining book.
This was a fun short mystery with some quirky characters (the girl has a pet skunk & a gangster ghost). Normally, I don't read many paranormal cozy mysteries, but this caught my interest & the Kindle version was free on Amazon (last time I checked, it was still free). Even though I haven't read this series from the beginning, Angie Fox did a really good job explaining things, so I didn't feel like I was missing anything from starting with book #4.
OMG! OMG! I have to say I think this series just gets better and better. I love Verity, her boyfriend Ellis, her pet skunk and her best ghost pal, Frankie. I love when Frankie's ghost gang shows up,I love watching Ellis be all cop and protective, and I love watching Verity deal with her fears and come out on the other side. The characters are well written and engaging. The setting is outstanding, fans of mysteries will love it. GO BUY THIS BOOK!
Best yet in this series. Loved it! Haunted mansion, cursed family and vengeful ghosts. Perfect read for this time of year. Verity and her ghost partner Frankie get their 1st ghost hunting job to rid the mansion of the ghosts and try to solve the murders. The author does an excellent job describing the mansion and ghostly happenings. Can't wait to read the next one!
