This is my first manga and I now understand why this genre is so popular. The storyline was intense and fun and the art is gorgeous!!! Definitely will read more!!!

I saw Alita Battle Angel last night; I had no idea it was based on a manga (though I probably won't check it out bc I'm not a fan of manga at all...). I really enjoyed the movie. Amazing visuals, good chemistry between actor. It's a shame James Cameron's screenplay is so bad. High concept, beautiful world, but he can't think of an original story. Derivative, such bad dialogue. I would love to watch this as a silent movie, just music and effects🤷

BarbaraTheBibliophage Mr. B wants to go see it, and I‘ll probably give in. Glad at least the visuals are worth it! 6y
EclecticBookLover I'm going to see it this weekend. A local theater has a special screen, bigger and better sound (not quite Imax) so it sounds like the visuals will be good. 6y
LibrarianRyan I just got back from the theater. I did read the books years ago. I love it but it started so slow. And that non ending. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh. But you are right the visuals are amazing. The story quite a bit sappy. 6y
TieDyeDude @BarbaraTheBibliophage @EclecticBookLover I hope you enjoy it! @LibrarianRyan I hope there is a sequel. Now that the cliques are out of the way, there could be some good story to continue. 6y

Read this manga (my first manga) in preparation for the upcoming movie. It was alright. I feel like it‘s not much like the preview tho so I‘m wondering if it‘s more like an inspired by than a recreation. Going to try and make my boyfriend read it prior us seeing the movie 🖤

Finished blasting through all 9 volumes of the series in preparation for the upcoming movie. If you love action and explosions and cyborgs this is your jam. The art is wonderful and the world is thought out to the smallest detail. However the story overall over the course of the series was hit and miss for me.
(spoiler comment has my thoughts on the ending)

Oldschool_millenial The final volume featured an additional ending that built on concepts that are explored further in the last order revamp. I loved the additional two-chapter ending as opposed to leaving it where it originally was which was literally her getting blown up by her antagonist. 6y

Battle Angel Alita is a cyborg with no memory of her past. The one thing that comes easy to her is her ability to fight. Armed with a new body she sets out on a quest to discover who she was. This book series will be made into a movie by James Cameron after he is done with the next Avatar. #outofthisworld #booktober
