What a surprisingly great book and story. I checked it out from the library just to preview for my daughter and just LOVED it! So glad there is a series!

Okay this was actually adorable. It has a lot of elements of other big series like A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Box and the Dragonfly and even some Sherlock Holmes. Max is a really likeable character who just loves finding solutions to things. All of Max's surrounding cast were enjoyable and def curious to know what happened to his parents. For sure picking up the sequels soon.
This cover was so cute that I couldn't not borrow it from the library
What an adorable book full of intrigue, adventure, and “solutioneer-ing”. Love the clever writing style. I love that he‘s a 12 yo who can pass as an adult in all situations and can solve things grown-ups can‘t...it‘s one of my favourite tropes in books. (‘cause let‘s be honest, my young nieces and nephews have me beat on far too many levels so there‘s clearly some truth in that idea).
Oh man!! I feel like a moron. I meant to check out the audiobook of 'The Book of Lost Things' by John Connolly on Overdrive...but instead checked out the audiobook with the same name by Cynthia Voigt. I actually didn't even notice my mistake until after I listened to the entire book.
Now I see the John Connolly book isn't even available through Overdrive. 😓 I need to make a library run tonight for sure!! #desperate
I don't have any books from the library, but I did borrow these two from my kid a couple of weeks ago..still not done with them. These are book 1 and 2 of the Mister Max trilogy. A bit of fantasy, adventure, mystery and humour - quite clever 😀👍🏼📚 #somethingborrowed #booktober @RealLifeReading
