“I told her I wanted to be a writer and that I knew a great romance was waiting for me to write it. She smiled and said that she hoped a great romance was waiting for me to live it.“
We live in a society populated by strangers. Each day we feel more distant from each other, more alone, all while being surrounded by millions. Each day we watch as our city turns into a desert. One in which we are all lost - looking for that oasis‘s we like to call love. The more we wait the more everything and everyone looks like a grain of sand escaping between our fingers before vanishing into the wind.

So good. So many thoughts about this one. It was sad at times, funny at others, a little confusing, but fantastic.
Day 2 of #booktober and I'm going with this gorgeous graphic novel for books set in S America (Brazil, to be precise). This story is beautifully drawn and well written and will give you all the feels. Definitely worth checking out.
My Fun Friday pick for best ending is Daytripper by Moon/Ba. Do not read unless prepared to cry ALL the tears! No spoilers as the panel above is not the ending, but it fits quite nicely...
Last two books of the comic book course I've been teaching—last two books I "have" to read for the semester. Pure joy in these pages. And heartbreak. And wonderfulness. So cool to get to share them with a lecture hall of smart people.
