All three Walter Mosley books I have already read.
Today's author spotlight: Walter Mosley! The 65-year-old was born in Los Angeles to a Russian Jewish mother and and an African-American father who, in 1951, would not be issued a marriage license. He began programming computers in the late '70s. While working for Mobil Oil, he took a writing course at City College in Harlem after being inspired by "The Color Purple". He's been writing everyday since he was 34. #AuthorPotpourri #TheMoreYouKnow
⭐️⭐️⭐️this was not what I was expecting it to be. Labeled as young adult when I picked it up, it dealt with some much heavier topics than I expected. Definitely interesting but drags for a bit.
While I felt the writing could have been better, I felt the story was compelling enough to look past that. This was my first Mosley book and I really enjoyed the different themes he explored such as race and affluence. Tommy was so sweet and wise that you really felt for him and admired his strength to be happy. Eric despite being more reserved was someone you also felt for as he seemed to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders.
