A mystery inside a mystery. We are drawn back to an old crime Aimee‘s mother perpetrated. However, the biggest mysteries go unsolved.

I‘m one book behind the rest of the gang, so I guess I need to read this one before next week! I guess this wasn‘t exactly Andrew‘s fave 🤣
Another solid entry in Cara Black‘s Aimée Leduc series: The third novel finds Aimée in touch with a woman, recently released from prison, who claims to have knowledge of the mother who disappeared from Aimée‘s life when she was only eight. It seems that her mother was a member of the radical Haader-Rofmein gang (à la Baader-Hofmein). Aimée is searching for still living members at the very same time that someone else is killing them. Action-packed!
Det Aimee Leduc fears that the 1960s Red Terror gang is on the loose -- and her long-lost mother may be one of them. Aimee wants to learn the truth. She is to meet Jutta Hald in the Sentier. When Aimee arrives, Jutta is dead. I like that we learned more about Aimee's mother. She attempts to clear the name of her French policeman father. I find her books well-written and fast-paced and the characters are unique. Recommended!

Goal was a book a day. I finished one every day but the last. Am reading tagged book, and finishing another one, but didn't complete. I'm still proud of 7 books is 8 days!
First book of the new year, in memory of my Dad who introduced this series to me. Aimee Leduc is a French-American IT security specialist whose mother disappeared from her life. A former terrorist contacts her to offer information on her mother in exchange for information which Aimee doesn‘t have. Quickly moving to murder, coverups, betrayals, and danger, this is a fun and quick read.
