Brood of the Witch-Queen
Brood of the Witch-Queen | Sax Rohmer
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
There was sincerity in the appeal, spoken in the softest, most silvern tone which he had ever heard. He stood beside the veiled woman, and met the glance of her dark eyes with a consciousness of some magnetic force in the glance which seemed to set his nerves quivering.

Mehso-so

The first third is pretty engaging, if solely for the atmosphere and creep factor. Unfortunately it eventually turns into a sort of monster mash, and the climax has a rushed, "Meh, time to wrap this nonsense up" feel to it.
