This book is very very similar to the first book in the series. There is less murder mystery, it‘s pretty clear who the villain is. But it‘s well written and satisfying in the predictability of all pulp romance.

Her historical romances are sweet and funny. This was a good one, a few times it got a little cheesy, but it‘s a great relaxing read. #romantsy #historicalromance

Shaila I like her too. Solid romances! 7y

Lynsay Sands phoned this one in. Lazy writing, silly plot choices (really? All these brothers are so smitten that they bring EVERY dress for Murine to choose from so they are conveniently destroyed by a fire forcing her to wear braies so Dougall can ogle her butt?), and strange word choices (butt cheek? In medieval Scotland, really?). And then it just sort of ends.

balletbookworm I'd like a book about Aulay, given that he's got some hang-ups I think he'd be interesting to write about. (Next one's about Niels...oh well) 8y
LauraBrook Bummer! (Hah!) I'm just starting to read romance - is there a Scotland series that you really like? I have a novella by Jennifer McQuiston (tagged), but that's it. I've been working off of Sarah MacLean's recommended romance list. 8y
balletbookworm @LauraBrook Sarah's list is good. Some of Lynsay Sands's Scots romances are pretty fun (The Deed and Devil of the Highlands). Jennifer Ashley's Victorian-era MacKenzies/Highland Pleasures series is good but while the heroes are all Scotsmen the books don't take place in Scotland (book 5 does). That series starts with The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie. 8y
LauraBrook @balletbookworm Thank you so much - they're all #stacked! 8y

Stayed up late to finish! Good story and it is part of a series but you can enjoy it without reading the rest. I've read two of the three other books.

And it went perfectly with my calendar for April. 😉

I love a Lynsay Sands' historical #romantsy, they always give me a chuckle. Favorite LOL moment in this book involved a bull named Alex. #bookbloggers http://bambi-unbridled.blogspot.com/2017/01/arc-review-falling-for-higlander-by....
