Finally, I have for my collection a first edition (1977) of this book that is in good shape! It arrived from England, and is a treasured gift. I love Edith Holden's artistry and connection to nature throughout.

pickThis is her more well-known country diary, published in 1906. Compared to the other, this has a lot more information/writing and many more beautiful illustrations like this one. Lovely, easy reading.
This beautiful #memorablememoir inspired me to learn more about our calendar. Everything about it is fascinating! Roman history and mythology, the origins of our holidays and weather lore. There was so much I didn't know! Like, where the name January came from. ❤️ this book. #booktober
