The second book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. Enjoyed this as much as the first book. Looking forward to the rest.
I listened to the audio version with the Words Take Wing Repertory Company.
This is my #doublespin for April.

I have a brand new dragon to introduce to my litsy family! Meet Malinalda! His name means 'tree of gold' in Elvish! He's also very flexible, who means I can wear him around my wrist or neck during library programs! 😀💖🐉 #dragonsoflitsy #dragonlibrarian
My birthday book haul! My first time in a bookstore since before quarantine. It has been too long! I was literally just talking about Dealing with Dragons this morning. It was a favorite of mine when I was a kid, so I'm super excited that I found the second book in the series.
Another great book in the series! Such a fun read!

I enjoyed this one just as much as the first. The characters in these books are fantastic and I love reading their stories. Luckily, my workplace has all of them 😃

I‘m reading too many books trying to prepare for Bookbattle over on Facebook which is themed Game of Thrones. Also 14 hours of reading done for #8intwo cause I‘m an overachiever and trying to relax. I am not sure I‘ll hit the 24 hours for #24b4monday though! Had to boost up with this giant cup of coffee or I was going to fall asleep! Really enjoying Monument 14 and Searching for Dragons right now! #reading #readathon
Rajah the Tiger (making a comeback appearance from my childhood) heartily approves of these two magic carpet rides. Searching For Dragons is book 2 of the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, and Castle in the Air is the first sequel to Howl's Moving Castle. Both feature carpets with personalities and quirks entirely their own (yes, those are teddy bears in the pattern on the left). #awholenewworld #jubilantjuly
This is the 2nd book in The Enchanted Forest Chronicles. I have read these first two books to my 8-year old daughter and we love them. In this 2nd book, Princess Cimorene searches for Kazul, the King of the Dragons. Cimorene has been Kazul's Chief Cook and Librarian since Kazul took her in after she ran away from her father's kingdom. In this 2nd book, King Mendenbar, of the Enchanted Forest, joins forces with Cimorene to search for Kazul.
One unforgivable thing Wrede does as the series progresses is to make brilliant, capable, resourceful Cimorene unable to comprehend the blustery wanderings of a sorcery-mansplaining magician. She frowns in confusion, her forehead wrinkles in dismay, she requires "translation" by a man who is her intellectual equal, effectively making her the archetypal damsel in distress that she was created to transcend. Badly done, Patricia Wrede, badly done.
"As you wish, Princess," Mendanbar said, bowing. (And all I can think is The Princess Bride, that most perfect of all perfect movies)
Moving through the Enchanted Forest Chronicles with the kids. Two books down, two to go! Searching for Dragons (#2) was very satisfactory -- all of us enjoyed it.
"I'm Chief Cook and Librarian for Kazul, the King of the Dragons, and I'm very happy with my job, and I don't want anyone to rescue me." So nice to meet up with Cimorene again!
