Pickpick

Best part of a cold rainy windy day is lots of time to read books.

One morning 16 yr old Ethan walks down the driveway and disappears. The story covers a 5 year span is told from his younger brother's POV of his and his family's dealing in the aftermath and loss.

Tamra Spooky, in a creepy way. (edited) 6y
Crazeedi It's a cold windy rainy day here too, snuggled up with my kindle!! 6y

@ReadingEnvy let me on her podcast to continue my lifelong quest to get the world to read the Odd Sea. Also - I reveal the one thing that all my favorite books have in common. We had a great chat and Jenny's voice is NPR-level soothing - check it out today: http://tinyurl.com/ReadingEnvy078

Thekelburrows I really enjoyed the show today. Good stuff. 8y
DeborahSmall I love Down and Out in Paris in London 8y
saresmoore Awesome! I will definitely be listening. And I agree about @ReadingEnvy 's voice. Listening to her makes me want to drink tea by the fireplace in a wood-paneled study full of books... 8y

ReadingEnvy @saresmoore ummm can I come? I promise to stop talking so you may read! 8y
saresmoore @ReadingEnvy Hahaha! Yes! I'll send you the location as soon as I find it. 8y
Ericmanciniwriter Hey @saresmoore @readingenvy since this is my post can I come too? 8y
saresmoore @Eamann Of course! You're bringing the firewood! 8y
saresmoore On a different subject, you mentioned that reading The Odd Sea was more emotionally taxing after having children. Is it still worth the read? I am definitely intrigued after hearing you talk about it, but a little nervous due to the subject matter. 8y
Ericmanciniwriter @saresmoore I still think it's worth reading - it has a bouyancy despite its sadness. I can't be objective since it blew my mind in my formative years - I need someone like you to read it and tell me your thoughts 8y
saresmoore Deal. I tend to like sad books in spite of myself. 8y
Bookchipmunk Yay! Can't wait to hear the show! This will be my morning commute company tomorrow - Thank you @ReadingEnvy for your excellent podcast. (edited) 8y

Lola What a wonderful surprise to tune in and hear @Eamann as your guest! Great episode! Michael Chabon (he pronounces it "Shay"bon ) is one of my favorite authors so I loved hearing your conversation about him. Jenny, you have a whole new pool of potential podcast guests here! ? 8y
ReadingEnvy @Lola Shaybon, got it! So far I've had four amazing guests from people I met in Litsy - @Notafraidofwords, @SarahK, @shawnmooney and of course @Eamann ... maybe you will be next? I think I'm looking for guests from May onward. 8y
Lola @ReadingEnvy That would be bookishly awesome!😊 8y
shawnmooney I really enjoyed this latest episode with @Eamann too!! 8y
Ericmanciniwriter @lola @shawnmooney thanks! I will forever say it Shay-bon! I had a blast on the podcast 8y

Has anyone read this book? It's honestly in my top 10 books of all time and no one seems to have heard of it. If I were more clever I'd come up with a hashtag for these types of books. Bonus: it takes place near where I grew up in Western MA.

saresmoore #littleknownfavorites #obscurepicks #bookkeptsecret ? If I were more clever, I wouldn't attempt to come up with hashtags... 8y
